Swimming and Starbucks in Santo Domingo.

While staying two weeks in Santo Domingo I got into a routine of swimming and then going to Starbucks using it like a workspace. For sure it is part of their business model to be a coworking space. It may not have the most cozy ambiance. There are better places for coffee and there is not much interesting to eat. But you can always sit there for several hours. Wifi is always reliable, easy charging and open until 10 pm.

I have been preparing a trip to the US to visit friends. I will probably get an overdose of politics there but I am really curious to hear what Americans think. While in Santo Domingo now, it occurred to me, that despite the DR’s proximity to the US, it feels further away. In Denmark the news is flooded with US politics. Also because of Denmark’s situation with Greenland and Europe with Ukraine.

The DR economy continues to grow. Santo Domingo is always busy and buzzing. My impression is that many live well. There is a sense of continued prosperity. The President of the DR Luis Abinader is doing an ok job I think. He doesn’t talk all the time like Presidents and PM’s of some other countries. I like a President or PM you don’t notice too much. Less noise and more freedom.

In Santo Domingo I was following up on my Dominican residency renewal. I recently submitted my application. There were three documents I had to upload again online. And I was working with Raysa with the company we have together Boyter Island SRL.There are a few real estate leads I am involved with and we are looking for a freelancer to work with her real estate website. We also now modified the statutes of the company to include more activities. For instance my content creation. We are updating the company at the “Registro Mercantil.”
