Prompting my way to a smoother travel experience! 🇩🇰🇩🇴.
Learning about prompting taking the course “Google Prompting Essentials” on the platform Coursera. A few times a year I travel back and forth between Denmark and the Dominican Republic. Until now I have preferred to stay longer at each place saving on flights. For getting inspiration for content creation I now go back and forth more often.
It complicates it more that it is between Aarhus in Denmark and Las Terrenas in the Dominican Republic, especially the latter being a bit off the beaten track. Taking the short online course I thought I would create my first prompt for my prompt library as a travel prompt for organizing my trips between Denmark and the Dominican Republic. A prompt I can keep using. Some things are the same, for instance that I check in one bag and that I travel economy and always ask for an aisle seat. There are some preferred airlines I use and I want to include a layover in Europe preferably in London or Madrid or if I travel via the US Miami is a good option. If I travel via the US I have to remember to update my ESTA visa waiver.
I don’t plan to use either Aarhus Airport or El Catey Airport near Las Terrenas. From experience I know it just complicates things as there are too few flights. In Denmark I prefer Copenhagen Airport but can use Billund Airport and in the Dominican Republic I prefer Santo Domingo “Las Americas” Airport but can also use Punta Cana Airport. I then have to go typically by train to get to Aarhus and with the bus to Las Terrenas.
I started with a basic prompt, and through a series of interactions with the AI tool I was adding more details, constraints, and preferences, effectively creating a chain of prompts. I now have kept a general prompt on my computer and in my Google Drive for planning future trips between the same two destinations. I will not have to start from scratch each time.
As I worked on the prompt. Iterating it and finishing the course I am now going more toward creating my first AI agent. A “Travel AI Agent” that can help me with these trips between Denmark and the Dominican Republic. Including different stops every time and making the stops useful and enjoyable. And possibly for other travel.
